The Krakow Aviation Museum
Address: Jana Pawła II 39
Area: Out of Town
Type: Museums
Rating: 5
The Krakow Aviation Museum in Poland is regarded as one of the best displays of aircraft in Europe. Launched in 1964 on the site of a former Polish air-force base, the Aviation museum boasts an impressive collection that spans from the beginnings of aviation in the early 1900´s to modern day de-commissioned fighter jets. The museum is divided into four sections together with the former airfield tarmac where the bigger aircraft are displayed alongside other bulky exhibits such as missile systems. Other exhibits include multimedia presentations, interactive games, information booths and rows of recliner seats mimicking an airplane cabin. The site also features a cafe with wi-fi internet and plays host to popular open-air events such as pop concerts and a variety of fairs.
