The roots of the Royal Route stem back to medieval times and introduce visitors to many historical buildings along the way. Starting at St. Florian´s Church in Matejko´s Square, the walk takes you past the Jan Matejko house and museum, the old fortification of the barbican, the main market square of Rynek Glowny and the impressive Gothic church of St. Mary´s. The walk ends at the hill where you will find the Royal Wawel Castle which has been home to the rulers of Poland since the 16th Century. On the way why not stop for refreshments in the famous Michalika artistic cafe in Florianska Street which has been visited by some of the greatest literary names in Eastern Europe. Others places of note along the Royal Route are the monastery complexes of Dominicans and Franciscans, Wielopolski Palace and the fabulous Church of St. Peter and St. Paul.

it's a very beautiful route to take in Krakow. You can see many historical places on the way and you are basically walking the way of the kings. You will pass the main square, many churches, nice park, and you will end up in Wawel castle which is also very beautiful. I love Krakow <3
