Bagatela Theatre
The Bagatela Theatre is one of Krakow´s most endearing. Dedicated to the writer and doctor, Tadeusz Boy-Zelenski who lived on the corner of Karmelicka Street near to where the theatre is located, the Bagatela was originally intended for children and although today it stages plays for adults as well, it has maintained its traditions of staging plays with a light-hearted touch.
The theatre opened in 1919 and during the 1930´s was a chich cinema. It was in the Bagatela that Poland´s most famous actor and director Roman Polanski made his debut as a young man. Today it mostly stages musicals, comedies and other light pieces designed for family entertainment.
