Kino Pod Baranami
Address: Rynek Główny 27
Area: Old Town
Type: Cinemas
Rating: 4
The Kino Pod Baranami has become something of a Krakow institution in recent years after winning a couple of well-deserved awards from the Polish Institute in 2009.
Located in the upper floors of the Under the Rams Palace, the Baranami cinema can proudly boast the titles of Best Cinema and Best Programme of European Cinemas.
Though the Baranami only has three screens, its limitations restrict showings to films of pure quality from both Europe and World cinema, and as a consequence attract an intellectual and arty crowd. Foreign language films are mostly subtitled in English and the entrance is found through the courtyard on the left.
The Baranami also plays host to an annual film festival titled the “Summer Cinema Harvest,” a 9-week long film extravaganza featuring over 130 titles with a different theme each week.

It is one of those old school, small cinemas with a soul. It will suit your needs if you like alternative, ambitious movies. They are played with polish subtitels. It has a good atmosphere and it doesn't smell like popcorn ;)
