Essential Krakow brings to you an up to date and well organized calendar of Krakow events and information about what’s on in Krakow.

Each year Krakow hosts a number of large regular events in the shape of music festivals, film festivals and a series of cultural festivals and art exhibitions – something that you might expect for Poland’s capital of culture. Combine this with numerous small one off and regular events, which define Krakow’s culture and you’ll find an events calendar packed with exciting and varied things to do.

The more established events that typically take place annually attract visitors to Krakow both from within Poland and internationally. Some of the major events include The Jewish Cultural Festival, The Coke Live music festival, Wianki, The Krakow Film Festival, The Selector festival, which draw tens of thousands of visitors.

At Essential Krakow we recommend digging a little bit deeper into Krakow’s event calendar in which you’ll find some quite unique shows and performances which really captivate the atmosphere of the city. Examples include the charming Chopin recitals which take place regularly throughout the tourist season and the enchanting classical music concerts that are a regular feature in the stunning surroundings of St Peter & Paul’s church.

Although cultural and artistic events dominate the Calendar of what’s on in Krakow, there are also a number of sporting events which are worth a mention. The Krakow marathon is a popular annual occasion, taking place in the Spring, and also the Tour de Polonia cycle race often visits Krakow in spectacular fashion through the streets of the old town.
