Over the last decade or so, Andrzej Sawik has written many innovative pieces and played with a series of groups whose performances have centred around improvisations of his work. He has collaborated with such respected jazz musicians as Franz Hautzinger, Tony Wrafter and Marcin Slusarczyk. Currently, the “Andrzej Sawik Trio” - inspired by Andrzej's compositions and steeped in the traditions of jazz – is moving towards improvisations based on classical music.
Andrzej Sawik is at present convalescing following intensive treatment for cancer. The prognosis is good and we hope that eventually he will make a complete recovery and be able to continue with his musical career, but until that time he needs financial support.

Our idea for a benefit concert has been enthusiastically taken up by some of the finest musicians currently residing in Kraków:

Mariusz 'oziu' Orzechowski – poet, author, musician, songwriter...difficult to pigeonhole, but his work could perhaps best be described as “poetic songs”. He has won many awards at Polish festivals. ‘Oziu’ will be performing with the talented keyboard player, Paweł Pierzchała.

World Trans System – set up by Simeon Lenoir, their music is a mixture of Celtic sounds from Northern France, traditional African music and mantra and trance rhythms. Two spectacular musical projects by Simeon, Maoma and Le Phare have attracted audiences of over 10,000 people. The current lineup includes Kris Bodzoń and Casey Crosby.

Boba Jazz Band is one of the best Polish groups performing traditional jazz in its purest form. In 1986 Jan Boba, the leader of the band, received a diploma from President Ronald Reagan for popularising American culture. This full orchestra loves to perform live and draw audiences into the enchanted world of the golden age of jazz.

We hope you have a great time and enjoy the fabulous music!
